Their was a lot of discussion about books in my movie
critic thread. So I thought, maybe a new thread might be
in order. :-)
I love reading, it soothes the soul. I just finished
Tom Clancy's "Red Storm Rising" for about the 8 hundredth
time, it's one of my favorite books. :-)
Red Storm is a little wordy and difficult to follow, due
to the multitude of different locations through out the
story. But it is definitely a good read. :-)
If you enjoy war type stories, Big thumbs up. :-)
What about you, read any good books lately?

I'm currently reading Eclipse. I hate Meyers writing but I can't have an opinion if I don't read/watch. It pisses me off because this could have been a really great series... but it's not.
Before that I read a lot of books. I'm a big reader. But Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah stands out in my mind. It was a beautiful story, full of history, love and mystery.
Other books that I've read recently that are note worthy:
The Iron King by Julie Kagawa
Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
The Devil's Bones by Jefferson Bass
Bones of Betrayal by Jefferson Bass
The Bone Thief by Jefferson Bass
Eleventh Grade Burns (The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod, #4) by Heather Brewer
Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater

I'm currently reading Empress by Shan Sa. It's lovely.
One of my favorite books is Moloka'i but I forgot who the author was and I'm too lazy to go upstairs to check. But it's an amazing book, so if you find it anywhere, definitely check it out.

My first thick book, from start to finish, was Mariel of Redwall, when I was in fifth grade.

I haven't decided yet, J R R Tolkien or Harry Potter?
The Hobbit or magic? I enjoy all of them, but the Harry
Potter books are like British movies, or T V dramas, they
just end until the next one. :-)
Maybe I'll dust off my Poe collection. :-)

Read George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series. Don't ask questions. Just read.
But prepare to wait anywhere from 10 years to forever for the remaining three books in the heptalogy to be released.

I've been meaning to re-read The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit. I have them all... somewhere.
I enjoy Harry Potter, I've been meaning to reread those, too. But to be honest, I think I would have enjoyed the series more if it abandoned the plot and was just about a bunch of kids going to a silly wizard school.

William Shatner? William Shatner. William Shatner!
I got curious to see if William Shatner was involved based in the title. That is what I got. Whut. xD

Yeah your right, Elven :-)
Not much tops The Hobbit or my precious :-)
Go for The Hobbit, Red :-)
Get yourself a wing back chair, pot of hot tea and a
comfortable reading light. :-)
Almost heaven :-)

I finished Eclipse last night. Meh.
Today I started Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. So far it's good and really interesting.

Want to find more books based around the life of a female Drow... There is something rather... Enticing, about them.

The only thing better than Tolkien and tea is searching the internet for the best of the worst Middle Earth fanfictions. The lulz were legendary.
Though... I remember goblin1.txt.
That was hot. Poor Celebrian.

The possibilities for LOTR/Tolkien fanfiction are about as limitless as those for Star Wars.
Jar Jar/Yoda... -shiver-
Admittedly the weirdest LOTR fanfic I ever found was a Legolas/Treebeard but once I finally read it, it wasn't as weird as I thought.
The Library of Moria has ANY and I do mean any slash (male and female) fanfictions you could ever hope to find.
Back on topic, I have about half of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter left. After I finish it I'm going to read Linger.

Just don't get near Twilight. Who the hell believes vampires sparkle in sunlight instead of burning alive?
